Who we are
The Access Partners team includes senior sales executives with specific success records in consultant coverage and platform/intermediaries, as well as support specialists in the creation and maintenance of RFPs, databases, and consultant/intermediary user-friendly materials.
Mr. Wendel is a Managing Director at Access Distribution Partners, with an emphasis on sub-advisory and platforms/intermediaries, as well as expertise in variable annuity and DC markets. From 2006-2009, Mr. Wendel served as Vice President of JPMorgan Asset Management where he was responsible for business development and relationship management of insurance companies serving the variable annuity and defined contribution market. Mr. Wendel generated over $2 billion in sales in 2007 and 2008 and was responsible for selling and orchestrating the largest 130/30 mandate in the VA industry.
From 1994-2006, Mr. Wendel served various sales management positions at AIM Investments. From 2003-2006 he served as Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager where he led the business development, sales, and relationship management teams covering insurance companies, banks, broker/dealers, and investment consultants. His unit generated over $7.5 billion in annual sales during his tenure. From 1999-2003, Mr. Wendel generated $3.2 billion in sales as National Sales Manager and grew his division to include business with 48 of the top 50 and 88 out of the top 100 providers of DC plans. Prior to that Mr. Wendel held roles as East Region Sales Manager and Vice-President of Mid-Atlantic States Institutional Sales.
Prior to his career at AIM, Mr. Wendel was an Investment Representative at Cigna Financial Advisors and also held roles at United Jersey Bank and Marine Midland Bank.
Mr. Wendel received a B.S. from Fordham University. He is a registered representative and is Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 qualified.
C.O.O. / Vice President
Mr. McMahon is a Vice President at Access Distribution Partners focusing on the broker/dealer and RIA channels. He also provides client services and analytical support and is responsible for running the firm’s day to day operations.
Mr. McMahon joined Access Partners from the Equity Capital Markets Group at Credit Suisse where he was the primary analyst to the retail, healthcare and business services sectors in the origination and execution of IPOs, follow-ons and equity-linked securities. His main responsibilities included creating pitch books, establishing valuations, targeting institutional accounts to purchase the offerings and appropriately positioning the company in the marketplace. Mr. McMahon was the lead capital markets analyst on the execution of the IPOs for RiskMetrics and Grand Canyon Education, as well as a follow-on for IPC The Hospitalist Co.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. McMahon worked in the Global Private Client Group at Citigroup Smith Barney. He performed analysis and due diligence on offshore mutual funds utilized by financial advisors for foreign nationals. His other main responsibility was to educate clients on investment products and opportunities.
Mr. McMahon holds a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and an M.S. from the London School of Economics. He is a registered representative and is Series 7 and 63 qualified.
Senior Vice President - Chicago
Mr. Gentleman is a Senior Vice President of Access Distribution Partners, with an emphasis on sub-advisory, platforms/intermediaries, as well as expertise in variable annuity and defined contribution markets. Most recently Mr. Gentleman worked at Hewitt EnnisKnupp marketing their institutional advisory services for financial intermediaries.
From 2006-2012 Mr. Gentleman worked as a Vice President at Wilshire Associates where he was one of the first business development professionals selling institutional advisory services to the financial intermediary market. Mr. Gentleman was instrumental in developing a marketing message to market an institutional investment process for financial institutions. While at Wilshire, Mr. Gentleman originated 3 of the top 6 partnerships for the financial intermediary division and the firm’s second largest.
From 1999-2005 Mr. Gentleman worked at Ibbotson Associates as an Inside Sales Representative, Regional Sales Director and Vice President of Sales for the Midwest and West regions. Mr. Gentleman helped grow and lead Ibbotson into the advisory services and fund of funds business, and was part of a core team that helped double the firm’s revenue between 1999-2005.
Mr. Gentleman has extensive training in strategic and tactical asset allocation, fund due diligence, manager optimization, alternatives investment and retirement income.
Mr. Gentleman graduated in 1996 from Eastern Illinois with a BS in Political Science.
Senior Vice President - New York
Mr. O’Sullivan is a Senior Vice President at Access Distribution Partners. Prior to joining Access Distribution Partners, he was the Director of Platform Management for Alternative Investments at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney(“MSSB”) where he was responsible for all operational, technology and product distribution functions of private placements and registered alternative investment vehicles. Prior to that, Mr. O’Sullivan had similar managerial responsibilities at the predecessor firms of MSSB, Citi Global Wealth Management and Smith Barney.
From 2005-2006, Mr. O’Sullivan was the National Sales Manager for Smith Barney Alternative Investments in which he managed a sales team responsible for the marketing of hedge funds, managed futures, private equity and real estate products to Smith Barney Financial Advisors and clients. From 2004-2005, Mr. O’Sullivan was the Northeast Sales Director for Smith Barney Alternative Investments.
From 1986-2004, Mr. O’Sullivan held various positions at Prudential Securities. From 2002-2004, Mr. O’Sullivan was the Sales Manager of the Alternative Investment Strategies Group where he managed a sales team responsible for the marketing of hedge funds and managed futures products to Prudential Securities Financial Advisors and clients.
Mr. O’Sullivan received a B.B.A. in Finance and Investments from Hofstra University and M.B.A. from the City University of New York – Baruch College. He is a registered representative and is Series 7, 24 and 63 qualified.
Senior Vice President - Mountain West
Mr. Mechling is a Senior Vice President at Access Distribution Partners managing the Mountain West Region. He is responsible for sales and marketing across all channels in his region which includes Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Northern California, Oregon and Washington.
Mr. Mechling has over 20 years of industry experience. He most recently worked with Griffin Capital distributing their non-traded REIT. Bill has previous experience as an external wholesaler at Lincoln Financial, American Express/Riversource, and INVESCO Mutual Funds.
Bill earned his B.A. from Fort Lewis College and his M.B.A. from the University of Colorado. He holds Series 6, 7, 63 as well as the life, health and variable contracts licenses.
Vice President - Mid-Atlantic
Mr. Nicholas is a Regional Director at Access Distribution Partners covering primarily the Mid-Atlantic Region as well as several other key cities throughout the country. He brings over 13 years of experience in Finance to Access Distribution Partners. Prior to assuming his current position at Access Distribution Partners, Mr. Nicholas worked at The Hartford Mutual Funds where he cultivated relationships with key advisors in the Mid West & West Coast.
Mr. Nicholas spent most of his career (2002-2010) as an Equities Trader utilizing self - designed models for manual and automated Trading. Prior to that, Mr. Nicholas was a Proprietary Trader with Assent LLC.
Mr. Nicholas began his career at Logan Capital Management where he served on both the Trading and Sales Desk.
Mr. Nicholas has a B.S from the University of Maine and is Series 6 & 63 qualified.
Vice President - Southeast
Mr. Jermak is a Vice President at Access Distribution Partners based in West Palm Beach. He is responsible for primarily cover areas in the Southeast with a focus on RIAs, wirehouse FA’s, and independent B/D FA’s in the region.
Prior to joining Access Distribution in 2014, Mr. Jermak spent over 3 years at Nuveen Investments, most recently as a sales consultant. At Nuveen, he managed a territory of RIAs and Family Offices in the Southeast, and was responsible for advising these clients on Nuveen’s full suite of strategies including: Equity, Fixed Income, Real Assets, and Liquid Alternatives.
Mr. Jermak spent 2010 and 2011 as a caddy on various professional golf tours in the United States and Europe, including caddying for a 2007 Masters participant.
Mr. Jermak began his career at Moneta Group (RIA) where he served as an Analyst for all asset classes.
Mr. Jermak has a B.S. in Finance from Saint Louis University and is Series 7 and 66 liscensed.
Daniel Welker, CFA
Vice President - Midwest
Mr. Welker is a Vice President at Access Distribution Partners based in Chicago. He is responsible for primarily covering the major metropolitan areas in the Midwest with a focus on RIAs, wirehouse FA’s, and independent B/D FA’s in the region.
Prior to joining Access Distribution in 2014, Mr. Welker spent over 6 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, most recently as a Vice President in the Client Advisor group. At J.P. Morgan, he managed a territory of Corporate (DB & DC), Public (DB), Endowment, Foundation, and Health Care institutional clients, and was responsible for advising these clients on J.P. Morgan’s full suite of strategies including: multi-asset, equity, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity and real assets. He began his career as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Welker has a B.A. in Mathematics and Business Economics from the College of Wooster. He is a Charted Financial Analyst.
Alicia provides client service and administrative support for Access Distribution Partners. She is primarily responsible for administrative requests and marketing for the home office. She is Series 6 & 63 qualified.
Alicia joined Access in 2013 after graduating from Saint Joseph’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During her college years, she worked for the American Marketing Association and spent most of her time volunteering in service organizations.
Director of Marketing/Vice President
Mr. Robertson is a Vice President at Access Distribution Partners focusing on marketing and client service for clients and Access Distribution Partners sales team.
Mr. Robertson has over 20 years of industry experience. He most recently worked with The Investment Fund for Foundations as a senior member of their client services team. Prior to that Mr. Robertson has held various marketing positions at Aberdeen Asset Management, Delaware Investments, STW Fixed Income, Morgan Stanley and Miller Anderson & Sherrerd.
Mr. Robertson received a B.S. from Penn State University and an M.B.A. from Temple University. He is Series 6 and 63 qualified.
